How lucky I am

Image
Every day I feel blessed to have my sexy beast wifey and that she allowed me to be a small part of her life, its never easy to be far apart and not to see each other as frequently as we wish but somehow, we manage this struggle and are on our 20 years anniversary as married, time really flies when you're happy. Sure, we do and did have a lot of hiccups, challenges and difficult moments but not for once there was doubt that we do belong together and can sort out anything that is thrown at us. there is so much to tell about her and there is moments that I cannot share but be sure that I love you my sweet darling to the moon and back. She is the mother of our daughter, best friend, funny as shit, and the most amazing lover and I can't wait to see her very soon here in Kenya.

Sharing is caring at BOMA college

Image
I love to share my experience and know - how to the younger generation and had the absolute pleasure to host a 2-day masterclass for college students from different parts of Africa during the All African culinary competition at BOMA college 2026.  It was great fun to meet these young professionals and to hear their background and future dreams, the cultural exchange is super fun and interesting, and I feel sometimes like Stanley looking for Livingstone. Even my boss was visiting for some lunch!! I showed some ideas that they can take with and develop their own way with whole chicken and whole salmon, some small tips and tricks that are useful and to think about when they plan for the next competition, unfortunately the level of teachers in 3 world countries are on absolute bottom level so the outcome and what they present are on extremely low standard, the so called professors are badly experienced them self so how will they be able to share anything with anybody? (FYI the sc...

A new move and another interesting place

Image
I just realized how long it's been since my last posting, panic mode when you realize how fast time is flying and that I moved to Nairobi Kenya 1,5 years ago, what a move! Arab mentality to Kenyan one, so different but still in Africa, from loud, car honking, shouting, fighting, crying, belly dancing to calm, very quiet, hustling and bustling, absolutely no traffic rules and not fear of getting run over,  people in Kenya are brave but stupid in traffic, a very cool move but I still preferer Cairo that is much more cultured and civilized when it comes to restaurants, theaters, opera and joy the vivre in general, but Nairobi have the animal parks, nature and much nicer weather year round, Nairobi is on 1800 meter over the ocean so it's very green and very nice temperature control, no AC needed, but on the other hand the traffic is fiercely brutal and crazy, no one have a driving license here and if they do the simply don't follow any rules and the police don't give a dam...

Last week in Cairo

Image
I am on my way to the last working week here in Cairo with mixed emotions really, I will not miss the actual work here that have been extremely intense and challenging in a way that nobody can understand, working with under educated Egyptians who think they knows everything is strange and also the cultural differences on top of everything is nothing I can recommend to anyone with high blood pressure. But I will sure miss Cairo a lot, the intensity, always busy and the hustle and bustle of the street, I will miss going for coffee and Ramses square where its always crazy with people and sit in my corner coffee shop and just people watching middle of the night, Cairo truly never sleeps and will be missed. Mike Per Igor Nick and Adi,  Habibis I will miss your company and  Thank you Cairo for being so good to me and the girls photos from my compound during Ramadan 2025

Bianca is to be 20 this year and I cant understand where time have gone and I refuse to se myself older, still young by heart but body feels shit!! We spend time discovering new places, eating great food and enjoying being together. Daddy loves you more than chocolate my sweet darling

My Brother from the same mother

Image
I have a brother three years younger than me and he is everything that I'm not humble, well educated, fit, calm, funny, charming and interesting as a person and he was here in Cairo to visit me for his first time in Africa but I'm sure not the last time. It was great to spend some days just us and to enjoy each others company wile me showing him around Cairo monuments and sights worth visiting but also some cool bars and eating places, I know that he is pleased with the trip and so am I and I love spending time us alone, way to long ago and we need to find a way how we can do this at least once a year, I miss having him as a traveling companion, no fuss and not complicated, just two brothers having fun. I hope to see him soon back somewhere in Africa again.

Mr Makkar the magic veggie supplier

Image
Mr Munir Makkar is a magician, let me explain few people have a interesting life like his, journalist, finance guy, musician, vegetable farm owner and in general a really amazing and super interesting person who you can sit and enjoy conversation with for hours, I took my brother there to meet him and to check out his gardens and green houses, absolutely fantastic this time a year and all the crops are fist class and super fresh, so unusual to all the supermarket tiered veggies of 3 class quality (the prime is all exported) As a chef this kind of excursions are very important and it gives me better understanding of seasonal variety and also it gives me so much inspiration how to use much more veggies in my cooking awesome! Out of the blue Munir told me that he have released a album in French where he plays all the guitars on, how cool is that, great mix of bossa and Latino rhythms with a cool voice, I love it and I hope to catch up with him very soon again, thank you Munir for you...

Egyptian civilization in modern days

Image
Most undereducated Egyptians think that they are the ancestors of the great pyramid builders, this is what they learn and read about without understanding that this is absolutely not true and many genetic tests are proving this, the current Egyptians are a mix from the ottoman empire, Syria and Iran who mixed in with Arabs to create what today is consider Egyptian, this under educated people are so far away for the truth but one thing remains, the beauty and splendor of the remains of ancient history for the world to visit and admire. Egypt is a beautiful country with so many diverse places and recourses but they are not able to attend or to develop, this is still very mush a 3 world country that will never develop witch is a shame, but laziness, ignorance and unfriendliness will never succeed. Of course there is some amazing people here that i have meet but they are a minority and the ones who use the others to make wealth and richness, well I am ok with that, this is what happen...
