Bug out Bag (BOB) for safety

 Many people ask me if I have a BOB living in security challenging countries and how that could affect if I need to leave really fast and get the hell out of situations that can possibly be dangerous, so here is what I personally have in my BOB always reachable with minutes notice.

1. Sterile first aid kit from Danish company Lifesystems that contains my personal medicaments, syringes and needles with additional  trauma essential kit for any problems, small but packed.

2. Is a really good multi tool for anything that requires pliers and a small sharp blade.

3.  A 1500 lumen rechargeable flashlight in metal that can be used as a hard hit instrument

4. Battery pack of 20 K that can charge my phone several full loads

5. A bunch of light-sticks in different colors for light when needed 

6. Small poach containing cables, prepaid international sim card, my extra passport and ID and money in USD to pay of any security when needed for better accessibility.

all of this is in a backpack with 2 liters of water (I change every 2 weeks) some light trousers, a t-shirt and a warm fleece jacket for cold nights.

Is this hysterical or foolish?  well when shit hits the fan and you need to bail out you sure are happy to have your gear ready to split.

Zind - Humbrecht wines in gods garden

When you leave South Africa you can not believe that one of the first persons you meet is from that country! How fun it was to meet up with Jolene Hunter the cellar master of maison Zind-Humbrecht, she is from J-burg bye the way J The winery of Olivier Humbrecht is in my book one of the 3 best producers in Alsace ( I will meet them all this week) and Jolene ( Olivier has to drive his son to a new school out of town this day) made this tasting a memory for life, I hade the tasting extravaganza never seen before when we started to get berserk in the tiny wine cellar, the one great bottle after the other, she was a great hostess who could explain all of my silly questions about all aspects of the house winemaking methods and about biodynamic winegrowing techniques. Sherry Delgado Zuleta

Delgado Zuleta is the oldest family-owned winery in the Jerez-Xèréz-Sherry & Manzanilla district currently maturing and commercialising Manzanilla, Sherry and some still white wine.   The bodega is located in Sanlucar de Barrameda, a small coastal town at the mouth of the Guadalquivir River , facing the Atlantic Ocean and the Doñana Natural Park . Delgado Zuleta was established in 1744 by Mr. Francisco Gil de Ledesma, Knight of the Order of Calatrava and Sanlucar Honorary Mayor and the current name honours Mr. José María Delgado Zuleta, a navy officer and skilful business man that ran the company after marrying a direct descendant of its founder.
