The strange Semlabulle


All the Swedes are celebrating the Fat Semla day today, this is an old tradition to eat fatty food some weeks before Easter so you can starve yourself during those days, Christianity is sometimes strange but all the wonderful food around the world are awesome.

This traditional Semla bulle ( whole-wheat bun flavoured with ground cardamom, almond paste spread and some heavy cram on top) can be eaten just as it is or up north in a deep dish with warm milk poured over it ( äkligt)

This year I have tried 21 different producers of Semla and there are some more to try before I announce this years Semla winner.

Prowein day two with great people

The second day at the wine fair was just amazing and I’m really happy to announce that I signed some great producers to Scandinavia and that I have chosen the first four wines that will have the “Special sommelier selection by Dragan Unic ” on the bottle. Sherry Delgado Zuleta

Delgado Zuleta is the oldest family-owned winery in the Jerez-Xèréz-Sherry & Manzanilla district currently maturing and commercialising Manzanilla, Sherry and some still white wine.   The bodega is located in Sanlucar de Barrameda, a small coastal town at the mouth of the Guadalquivir River , facing the Atlantic Ocean and the Doñana Natural Park . Delgado Zuleta was established in 1744 by Mr. Francisco Gil de Ledesma, Knight of the Order of Calatrava and Sanlucar Honorary Mayor and the current name honours Mr. José María Delgado Zuleta, a navy officer and skilful business man that ran the company after marrying a direct descendant of its founder.
